I dyed my hair black about 1 1/2 years ago. It's almost back to its natural shade of medium brown, but its still darker than it used to be, and the color's a little uneven (darker in some places than in others from the dye). I'm going to walmart (don't have the $ for a salon right now) and I want to get either a light auburn or a light golden brown dye, but I don't know what kinds will actually show over the dye and also not fry the hair. any suggestions?

Nothing will fix the uneven color, you would need to visit a salon to do get that done. If you are going to get auburn, keep in mind that it's extremely hard to get it out when you want to switch to different shade.

I would suggest "Sun In".. It lightens your hair... But first, try to get your hair back to its medium brown color.. the results should be a reddish light brown. Good luck!

welll it seems your hair turns out better when it isnt done at a salon but anyways don't use any type of ASH browns ASH will turn you hair gray or even green you go a coupe shade up of the same color on the box to get it the color you want because if you hair is dark and you dye it medium auburn it wont show up so you go with light auburn... and the parts that are lighter and un even put the dye on that hair first to even it up.
